Trending now: Joe Rogan fans have created a petition asking that the UFC commentator be considered to moderate a 2020 presidential debate. The Change.org petition currently has over 137k signers. Boo hoo. It will never happen.

  • The petition isn’t about a Democratic Primary – but the PRESIDENTIAL primary – stakes are big-time high. No one is going to go with an untested podcaster.
  • Sure, he has 6 million listeners and will bring in a different vibe – but he typically interviews individual people NOT panels. Different skillset. And his podcast is recorded, not livestreamed. There are no do-overs.
  • He would want to blow up the debate format. Good luck with that. The conservative Commission on Presidential Debates will go crazy (just look at the last three cycles).
  • Finally, the DNC is getting alot of heat for making the Democratic Debates more of a reality game show. And Joe Rogan would fuel that fire!
I am commenting on the 2019-20 Presidential Debates – how objective, skilled and fair the debate moderators will be and were immediately after each debate.
I am the leading authority on moderating panel discussions. I literally wrote the book on it.
